• The Body Shop has launched White Musk Blush. The new perfume is a musky floral, and its primary notes are freesia, rosebush, peach, mandarin orange and apple. It is available as an Eau de Toilette in a 1 oz bottle. (Osmoz.com)
• Canadian pop star Avril Lavigne has signed a global licensing agreement with P&G Prestige Products. P&G will create a line of fragrances for the star. Her first scent will debut in fall 2009. (Cosmeticnews.com)
• Estee Lauder will be launching a new woman's fragrance called Sensuous. It is described as a woody amber. It is currently available for pre-order at Bloomingdale's. (Osmoz.com)
• Gianfranco Ferre has launched a new woody fragrance for men called Acqua Azzurra. It features bergamot, rosemary, orange blossom, rose, violet leaves, ginger, wave accord, gaiac wood and patchouli. It is available as an Eau de Toilette and in 30, 50 and 100 ml bottles. (Now Smell This)
• Famous milliner Stephen Jones and Comme des Garcons are joining forces. The perfume named after the milliner is primarily a violet scent. It also has hints of clove, carnation, rose, jasmine, heliotrope and amber. (Now Smell This, Vogue UK)
• Jean Paul Gaultier will reveal a new fragrance for women in September. The perfume will be called Ma Dame. "The fresh, floral fragrance, created by Francis Kurkdjian from Takasago (who conceived the bestselling Le Mâle men’s fragrance for the brand), sports notes of rose, grenadine, musk and cedar. It comes in a block-like, pink-tinted glass bottle featuring a sculpted bust—the Gaultier trademark— and a black necklace. The outer packaging, which shows the Ma Dame name in bold pink and black, also has a pull-off card strip revealing the bottle inside." It will be available as 30, 50, 100 ml Eau de Toilettes. • Parlux has signed a a global licensing agreement with music and actress icon Queen Latifah. Her first fragrance will launch in 2009. So I see fragrance as just a natural expression of this state of love: scent expresses a woman's confidence and sensuality; it's how she embraces her body, her mind and her strength."
